Myspace as cheap entertainment/ 7/28/08

So-we all hear the 24/7 rant about the sky falling yada yada yada. Personally I'm sick and tired of all the doom and gloom, although I must admit that the cost of living has gone up dramatically in the past six months. The high prices of fuel and other commodities (I have a theory involving the Bejing Olympics) have increased the prices of everything we buy, so we need to tighten our belts; staying home instead of going out, holding off buying clothes, shoes, and other goodies, and in my case, adding almost two hours to my commute to the office-no wonder I'm exhausted!

Since the performance of my Phillies

right now is producing stress instead of relieving it, the only thing keeping my mind off my troubles these days is Tom's place for friends-you guessed it-MySpace!

This place provides endless entertainment and enlightenment, and lately it's been downright distracting-it's so crazy that I might need an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of the players LOL. I also have the benefit of some funny, ridiculous, and insightful friends; hilarious and moving blogs, and Photoshop masterpieces galore. Maybe the evil genius Dr. Zolton will even make me my own avatar....
It's a cornucopia of delights, although when Tom gets on the pipe, it's VERY FRUSTRATING and I have to turn my attention back to baseball.

All this distraction makes me forget that I'm watching the money; Myspace is free and easy to get to-it keeps my mind off the other things I can't do right now. It also keeps me away from shopping temptations, and yes they are many. I freely admit to being a shopaholic; in a way I'm transferring my addictive tendencies to MySpace. AAARRRRRGGGGG-it's sad but true-I must admit.

Although when I'm back out on the road in a hotel room with no Phillies baseball, MySpace will be even more addictive. My friends here helped me get through two months of working in Chicago; without them, all those nights in the hotel and endless hours in Philly and O'Hare airports would have been a lot harder, and I thank you all!

So enough with the maudlin stuff-this was supposed to be about MySpace as a distraction from our economic woes-what do you think?
