yes I got a tattoo today Feb 09

So-after all the buildup and the agonizing for the past six months at least (I wrote this blog about it back in July)-I FINALLY GOT THE TATTOO!!!!

It was a bit of a drive down to Moonlight Tattoo in Seaville/Oceanville (northern Cape May county), and of course I gave myself WAY too much time to get there. But it was a beautiful day, so I turned the car towards Ocean City and spent some time walking the boardwalk.







The boardwalk was crowded but I did get a decent parking space-in the summertime I'd be parking blocks away. Of course I had to go down to the beach and get some sand in my shoes.





All of this on top of a (AC) boardwalk bike ride this morning-how could the day get any better? Well-I'll tell you

I pulled up to Moonlight Tattoo about half an hour early. I had something to read with me just in case Diane couldn't take me right away, she wasn't busy so got started immediately. I had sent an email with the foot tattoo (you can see it in the July blog) that I still wanted to replicate, and she started drawing on my back with the marker. After some consultation, we agreed on the design, and she got to work. The needle gave me a stinging sensation; that's the best way to describe it, and it was really no big deal. HOWEVER, I don't think I'd want to sit for hours and hours for a really large design, because I was antsy after about 15 minutes.
Also-I can imagine that some parts of the body would hurt a lot more, like ribs for instance, or neck.
But all in all, not a big deal. She put a bandage on it and gave me some instructions and I was on my way. NO BIGGY! The worst part is still to come-telling Mark! Not that he doesn't know that I wanted the tat, but he is not too excited about the idea, so I didn't tell him that I was going today. I will just have to let it slip sometime tonight LOL. (Never mind, I just told him and he was ok with it; well he said I should do whatever I need to do. Oh well-if he isn't used to me by now then he is shit out of luck. (Hi honey if you ever get around to reading this-love you!))

I am already thinking that I want to go back and have her fill in some more stars; not to make it bigger but more dense. And I think I will have to start lifting some weights and get some cuts on my back-it has absolutely no definition!

All in all I am very happy with the whole experience. As usual I made a big to-do over nothing (remember the reunion OMG)
