I was going to take a picture of the reason but need a telephoto lens-plus it might be TMI.
One of the rooms in our house is designated the "library", and I try to keep all the books there, although they do spill out into the rest of the house. It's been a mishmash of bookcases since we moved in, but the intent has always been to build a wall of cases going up to the 9 foot ceiling.
Mark brought home two cases he custom-made for me and I spent some time this afternoon clearing space for them. The epiphany occured while I shuffled the books around in the room-I am a fucking lunatic!
I have all these books that I haven't read yet (and many that I have) almost completely unorganized. It's at the point where I really have no idea what I have in there-it's out of control.
The room is still quite a mess because the new cases don't have the shelves in them yet, so I was unable to refill them with books. I thought there were books on the floor before LOL-this is insane!
As a librarian's daughter I am ashamed of myself for the complete disorganization. I know I have a book and DVD on arranging your home library but-you guessed it-I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS LOFL!
It looks like I'll be breaking out the Dewey system-maybe it will help me organize this mess!
So-if the first step to overcoming a problem is admitting to it-I hereby confess my sin of buying too many books. I solemnly swear not to buy any more until I get things organized.
What it may look like eventually:
A small corner of the mess as it stands now-the new cases are not in the picture (I know I said I'd spare you the visuals but I lied):
There-it's out-I feel so much better! Now for a well-deserved trip to the beach!
