To tattoo or not to tattoo? 7/21/08

All the signs are pointing to this tattoo! That person at work whose tattoo I saw peeking out from his short-sleeved shirt-well we were on the subject of mid-life crises today and out of the blue he says "Why don't you just get a tattoo?" WTF OMG-he's reading my mind! We've never talked about it before EVER-so how could he know unless he's reading my mind-and/or my blog? I do make a point of not putting anything on my page that I wouldn't want people from work to see-but still. So another sign-that is if I believed in such things LOL.

So this is the question-I've been thinking a lot about getting a tattoo-my first.
I never knew or thought much about them one way or the other; and never considered getting one. After watching people actually getting tattoos and telling their stories on Miami Ink, though, the whole thing became much more familiar and intrigiung. Lately I've been paying a lot more attention to people in my life who have them, and I must thank Alana (if you are reading this, please chime in!) for answering my questions.

And yes, I do have my own story/reasons for the stars and the placement, but would rather not go into that right now- just know that there is a method to my madness LOL.

The most curious tidbit, which could be interpreted as a sign if I was so inclined, is that the short sleeved shirt that one of the men I work with was wearing yesterday revealed the bottom of a tat peeking out-very interesting!

So take a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think, even if you want to tell me that I'm totally nuts. I must admit I'm especially interested in hearing from my friends who have tattoos, although I welcome everyone's opinions.

This is what I'm thinking about. As you can see, I want some stars, and I like this because it has a bit of a curve and stars of different sizes.

The place I'm thinking about is my middle back-on my left to be close to my heart, in between my shoulder blade and spine, sort of curving slightly around the shoulder blade. The picture below is the closest I could find to the spot, although I'd like mine to be a little further down
